FanDuel Premier League Value Plays for Matchweek 24

Value plays are often the difference on the FanDuel leaderboard. With this year's format, value plays will be priced at $12 or lower in most cases. There will be some exceptions along the way.

This article will cover FanDuel's main slate that begins Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. EST and includes six matches.

For the second matchweek in a row, Sergio Aguero ($23) is the most expensive player on the slate and five of the top six players play for Manchester City. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Lucas Digne ($15) are the most expensive defenders while Ederson ($14) is at the top of the keeper list.

There are 352 players available with an average salary of just over $10. Let's see where the value lies in Matchweek 24.

Forward/Midfielder

Cenk Tosun, Crystal Palace ($12)

Tosun moved to Palace and made a near immediate impact. He scored on Saturday on two shots on goal while also drawing three fouls. It was a good indication of how Palace intends to use Tosun, who had fallen out of favor at Everton. Southampton gave up three goals at home on Saturday, including one on a penalty, and now have to travel to Crystal Palace. Despite being new to the team, Tosun has shot to the top of the odds list for first goal scorer for Palace. Tosun logged 74 minutes against Southampton earlier in the season. He had three shots and created two chances.

Ryan Fraser, Bournemouth ($11)

Fraser is getting back into the groove with nearly 25 points over the last two weeks coming mainly through creating seven chances. He made the most of his time on the ball on Saturday as he only had four crosses, but they were quality. In matchweeks 21 and 22 Fraser had a combined 29 crosses, so that is clearly where his his value lies. Fraser has drawn a foul in four straight matches and has contributed defensively in the last two matches. In Brighton's previous game against Aston Villa, three Villa midfielders had four crosses. Fraser hopes to get forward and eclipse that number while turning chances created into assists for Bournemouth.

Defender

Jamaal Lascelles, Newcastle ($12)

Newcastle's form has improved, yet stays inconsistent over the last two months. Lascelles' play echoes that of his team as he has been very streaky. He has three games of at least 16.9 points in his last four appearances, although Saturday was his first game since November 9. He reached double-digit clearances in games against West Ham, Tottenham, and Chelsea. West Ham recorded 17 clearances last week against Everton, Newcastle's opponent in matchweek 24. Lascelles had a streak of six consecutive games with at least one block earlier in the year, which is a valuable category on FanDuel.

Craig Dawson, Watford ($11)

Dawson has started just three matches for Watford, but the team has allowed just one goal in those matches. He had little to do on Saturday but still ended up with a clean sheet and 14.1 FanDuel points. Dawson has scored no fewer than 13 points over the last three appearances. He has 6 interceptions, 3 fouls drawn, and 16 clearances combined in those matches. Dawson recorded two blocks against Tottenham on Saturday as well. Watford shut out Villa when the teams met on December 28, and Villa has scored more than once only one time in the last five Premier League matches.

John Egan, Sheffield United ($10)

Egan and Sheffield are likely in for a long day on Tuesday against Manchester City, but he should have plenty of opportunities to rack up defensive actions. Egan averages over 13 points per game and scored 16.9 when these teams faced off last month. Egan recorded 8 clearances in that match and has a total of 21 over his last four appearances. Egan has recorded at least one tackle in six straight games and at least one interception in five of six. Sheffield should be on the back foot all match, giving Egan plenty of chances to record a high number of defensive actions as City had nearly 73% possession in the December match.

Keeper

Ben Foster, Watford ($11)

A defender and keeper pairing may not be a bad idea on Tuesday with Foster having three clean sheets, including one against Villa, in his last four matches. He is coming off a four-save performance against Tottenham, his most saves in the last five weeks. Foster has allowed more than one goal only once since December 7 and that was against the dynamic Liverpool attack that every team this season has struggled to slow down. Foster has five clean sheets over his last eight games and seems to be under priced given recent form.
