San Diego Padres hitters are in a great spot tonight as they take on rookie Jeff Hoffman and the Colorado Rockies.

In three big-league starts this year, Hoffman has given up 13 runs (11 earned) while walking 8 and striking out 5 over 15 innings. He had some struggles in the minors this year, as well, with a 4.02 ERA in 22 Triple-A games.

Padres' rookie Ryan Schimpf is having a great year from the dish, slashing .227/.346/.583 with a .381 wOBA and .355 ISO through 254 plate appearances. He has a huge 40% hard-hit rate and 60.8% fly-ball rate against right-handed pitching this season. He's in a great position to thrive in a good matchup against Hoffman.
