4) San Francisco Giants

Starters SIERA: 4.01 (5th)

Projected Rotation: Johnny Cueto, Jeff Samardzija, Madison Bumgarner, Matt Moore

This is a deep staff that boasts two pitchers who have won a combined four World Series rings, one of which is arguably the greatest postseason pitcher of this generation.

Bumgarner was 7-3 lifetime with a 2.14 ERA over 88 1/3 innings pitched before Wednesday night's masterpiece, where he twirled 9 more shutout innings. And keep in mind that Bumgarner knows one speed -- winning rings. He's played in 11 postseason series, and his team has won all 11. That is truly incredible.

This season was yet another stellar campaign for Bumgarner. He logged his sixth consecutive season of 200-plus innings, finishing with a 3.36 SIERA and career-best 27.5% strikeout rate.

Cueto, meanwhile, was excellent in his first year with the San Francisco Giants, throwing 219 2/3 innings with a stellar 3.59 SIERA. He also notched a career-low 5.1% walk rate.

Samardzija has been somewhat up and down this season. Even with a move to AT&T Park, he basically pitched the same season as last year. The Shark recorded a 4.13 SIERA in 2016, which was nearly identical to his 4.18 SIERA in 2015. Samardzija's strikeout rate rose, but so did his walk rate and hard-hit rate. He did turn it on in September, fanning 28.6% of hitters and recording an xFIP of 2.85.

Coming over in a midseason trade from the Tampa Bay Rays, Moore recorded a 4.55 xFIP as a Ray and 4.56 xFIP as a Giant. Moore's problems lie in walks and homers. He walked 8.6% of hitters in 2016, and he has recorded marks of 1.29 and 1.13 home runs per nine innings in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

If the Giants can get September Samardzija to go along with Bumgarner and Cueto, they're going to be a tough out, even for the potent Cubs.
