Chris Sale has been absolutely nasty through eight starts in 2017, posting a 2.18 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) and an absurd 38.8% strikeout rate with a 16.1% swinging-strike rate. He's no stranger to fanning a ton of batters, though -- he's posted strikeout rates north of 30.0% and swinging-strike rates above 12.5% in two of his last three seasons.

He has punched out double-digit hitters in all but his first start of the year, and he brings that dominance into a great fantasy matchup against the Oakland Athletics.

The A's sit below-average with a 92 wRC+ against left-handed pitching on the season, and their 3.03 implied total is the second-lowest on the slate, but what really makes this matchup so appealing is that Oakland's 23.7% strikeout rate against southpaws is the sixth-highest mark in the majors.
