Adeiny Hechavarria, SS, Pittsburgh Pirates

Since the Pittsburgh Pirates made their move to make a push in the playoff chase, acquiring Chris Archer at the deadline, they have slid back a bit, and the offense is partially to blame, ranking fourth-worst in wOBA (.296). That offense will get no favors tonight against Jack Flaherty of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Flaherty has been dynamite this season for the Redbirds, and he has kept right-handed batters in check. This year, he's held them to a .286 wOBA, including a 34.8% strikeout rate and 6.0% walk rate.

Adeiny Hechavarria, who has been a regular at shortstop since coming over to the Buccos, has struggled in this split, recording a .222 batting average, .242 wOBA, and .092 ISO. Even as a punt option at shortstop, he does not make for a great play against Flaherty.
