This season has been unkind to the San Francisco Giants, but one revelation for them this season has been position-player-turned-pitcher Dereck Rodriguez, who has been brilliant on the mound.

The son of former MLB catcher Ivan Rodriguez has fired 86 innings this year, recording a 2.30 ERA. The righty's sparkling numbers are largely held up by absolutely dominating same-sided bats, posting a .250 wOBA, 22.6% strikeout rate, and 31.9% fly-ball rate against them this year.

Arizona Diamondbacks' shortstop Nick Ahmed has been solid at the dish this year, but he has struggled in this split, hitting for only a .297 wOBA. He may make for a salary-saving option up the middle, but he should be largely ignored in this spot tonight..
