One of those teams with no betting lines yet is the Los Angeles Angels, but we can expect them to end up getting a solid implied total for their matchup with righty Shelby Miller and the Texas Rangers, regardless of the status of Mike Trout (groin).

Injuries have limited Miller to only nine MLB outings over the last two seasons, but dating back to his last full season (20 games in 2016), he's turned in an ugly 5.08 xFIP while allowing a 37.0% hard-hit rate over 144 2/3 innings.

Left-handed hitters have had an especially easy time in this matchup as he owns a 5.68 xFIP in the split while allowing a massive .384 wOBA. For context, a .384 wOBA ranked 10th among qualifying hitters in 2018.

Kole Calhoun projects to bat leadoff against Miller, and a $2,500 lefty batting leadoff will almost always be in play against Miller, regardless of how strong of a hitter they are. As an added bonus, though, Calhoun has shown some real pop against right-handed hurlers. In 384 plate appearances last year, he turned a 44.2% hard-hit rate and 36.7% fly-ball rate into .191 ISO against righties.
