4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Value Plays for 5/6/16
J.D. Martinez, OF, Detroit Tigers
FanDuel Price: $2,900
Coming off of the two best years of his career, a slow start has some people low on J.D. Martinez and more importantly has his salary quite low. His .288 BABIP and 9.7 percent fly ball rate are much worse than his career averages, despite a strong 36.1 percent hard-hit rate, and there's not much reason to doubt his ability to return to form.
Cole Hamels isn't a pushover by any stretch, but Martinez has hit a career .368 wOBA and .230 ISO against left-handed pitchers, and with a return to form appearing so likely, this is a great spot to take advantage of the ability to roster a hitter as strong as Martinez for a sub-$3,000 price tag.
