The first place you should look is in Boston at Steven Wright, who is having an incredibly rare breakout season at age 31. His knuckleball has baffled hitters, and when they do make contact, they’re only putting it in the outfield 33 percent of the time.

With just an 83-mile-per-hour fastball and constant use of the knuckleball, Wright ables himself to pitch deep into his starts -- he’s already racked up three complete games this season.

Normally, you can look at a pitcher’s opponent and gauge how they fare versus left- or right-handed pitching -- but not in this case. Versus a knuckleballer, you can throw all opponent handedness stats out of the window.
