FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Saturday 3/30/19

Kenta Maeda put up a 14.4% swinging-strike rate last season, and his first start of 2019 is a home date with the D-Backs. Who else is worth looking at for Saturday's main slate?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy-looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today. We'll be focusing exclusively on the main slate.

High-Priced Pitchers

Kenta Maeda ($8,200 on FanDuel): With King Kenta, the issue is never about talent. Since debuting in 2016, he's posted season-long swinging-strike rates of 11.6%, 12.5% and 14.4%. The dude can miss bats. The hangup with Maeda in DFS has always been his inability to pitch deep into games as the Los Angeles Dodgers like to yank him early, even when he's going well, making it harder for him to get FanDuel points for a win and quality start. Despite a 3.42 SIERA and 28.8% strikeout rate in 2018, Maeda went six-plus innings just four times in 20 starts. He could very well have the same issue today, but our models love him in a home matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks, projecting Maeda to score 42.2 FanDuel points -- nearly seven points more than any other hurler -- across 6.36 frames. His usually tight leash limits the upside a bit, but facing a pedestrian offense in a pitcher's park, Maeda offers a solid floor.
