4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/8/19

We get another night of Coors Field action, and despite disappointing on Tuesday, the Colorado Rockies are once again an enticing stack against a left-hander in Derek Holland. But much like yesterday, there are plenty of viable alternatives outside of Coors, particularly considering how priced up the Rockies' top bats are tonight.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks. As usual, we will not include today's game at Coors Field in these recommendations. You already know that you want bats at Coors when you can afford them, and you don't need us to tell you. Here are the other teams you should be targeting in daily fantasy baseball today.

Boston Red Sox

Outside of the Rockies, the Boston Red Sox figure to be one of the most popular stacks on the night, particularly after piling up eight runs and three homers against the hapless Baltimore Orioles last night.

But you know they have a great opportunity for an encore performance against Andrew Cashner, who's always a popular candidate to stack against.

As usual, Cashner isn't doing anything noteworthy on the mound, sporting a lackluster 4.93 SIERA, 17.7% strikeout rate, and 9.5% walk rate while also allowing a hefty 46.1% hard-hit rate. Arguably, the lone positive on his 2019 resume is a 53.0% ground-ball rate, which could theoretically put a damper on Boston's home run upside, except Cashner only produced a 40.4% ground-ball rate last year and hasn't otherwise held a rate above 50% since 2013. Throw in some truly sorry Statcast numbers, too, and there's little reason to think Boston can't have another multi-homer night.

The Sox remain a bit pricey like always, though we're still getting a nice deal on J.D. Martinez ($3,900), who can often reach the high $4k range when he's on a roll. He came through with a bomb last night, and we should see many more to come from a guy who ranks sixth overall in xSLG (.675) despite his modest power output to this point.

Pretty much anyone batting one through six is fair game, and Jackie Bradley ($2,300) can serve as a punt out of the eight-hole when needed.
