4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 5/17/19

Every team is taking the field on tonight's main slate, and with quite a few appealing implied totals out there, it will be a tough task to narrow down your favorites in tournaments. With that in mind, let's go through four that look particularly enticing on Friday.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

St. Louis Cardinals

With a massive slate-high 6.25 implied total, the St. Louis Cardinals lead the way by a wide margin, and while they should be popular, the sheer number of options on this 15-game slate will hopefully keep ownership from getting too far out of hand.

As noted in today's daily helper, the Texas Rangers are using Jose Leclerc (4.51 SIERA) as an opener, with Adrian Sampson (5.14) following him as the bulk reliever, and between their sorry numbers and a hot evening in Arlington, it's easy to see where that hefty implied total is coming from. Leclerc has struggled mightily with walks (17.1%) and hard-contact (52.6%), while Sampson has trouble striking guys out (14.4%) and keeping the ball in the ballpark.

Although most of this lineup bats are right-handed, there's still plenty of pop in the bats of Paul Goldschmidt ($3,900), Paul DeJong ($3,900), and Marcell Ozuna ($4,100), who have all produced ISOs over .200 in same-sided matchups since the start of 2018. Meanwhile, lefty leadoff man Matt Carpenter ($3,200) checks in at an affordable price, and despite some modest results thus far, he's still sporting a 41.5% hard-hit rate and 50.9% fly-ball rate and has put up a .380 xwOBA versus righties dating back to last year.

You can also find value in the bottom half of the order, including switch-hitter Dexter Fowler ($2,900) and another lefty in Kolten Wong ($3,100).
