4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for 8/15/19

With a lack of elite hurlers on Thursday's main slate, there are a number of different ways you can go with your stacks, though some familiar offensive juggernauts figure to be popular tonight.

Each day here on numberFire, we'll go through four offenses ripe for the stacking. They could have a great matchup, be in a great park, or just have a lot of quality sticks in the lineup, but these are the offenses primed for big days that you may want a piece of.

Premium members can use our stacking feature to customize their stacks within their optimal lineups for the day, choosing the team you want to stack and how many players you want to include. You can also check out our hitting heat map, which provides an illustration of which offenses have the best combination of matchup and potency.

Now, let's get to the stacks.

Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins arguably get the weakest opposing pitcher of the slate in Pedro Payano, and their massive 6.61 implied total is justified despite Payano's 3.86 ERA.

That's because that ERA masks some really ugly peripherals, including a 5.73 xFIP, 16.9% strikeout rate, and 14.5% walk rate. We're only talking about 18.2 innings of big league work, but he wasn't much better in Triple-A, either, only managing a 5.43 xFIP across 29.0 innings.

Season-long projections on FanGraphs are similarly awful, with THE BAT pegging him for a 5.73 ERA and Steamer showing an even worse 5.93 mark.

Any way you slice it, Payano looks like he's on the verge of eating a big helping of regression, and a 96-degree night at Globe Life Park is just icing on the cake.

Max Kepler ($4,000), Jorge Polanco ($3,700), and Eddie Rosario ($3,800) are naturally excellent candidates to go yard, and as noted in today's daily helper, Miguel Sano ($3,200) is a great value and actually moves up to the two-hole tonight.

Best of all, if you're looking for a more frugal stack, there are plenty of cheap bats lurking lower in the order between Marwin Gonzalez ($3,100), Jason Castro ($2,700), and Jake Cave ($2,000).
