FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Helper: Tuesday 10/22/19

In a potential Game 1 pitchers' duel, will Carlos Correa and the Astros be able to get any runs off Max Scherzer?

Game 1 of the World Series gives us a heavyweight pitching matchup between Max Scherzer and Gerrit Cole, two of this season's best overall hurlers. But with Cole on such a ridiculous roll since pretty much the beginning of August -- he finally had a streak of 11 straight games with double-digit strikeouts broken against the Yankees, getting "only" seven -- the Houston Astros are -220 favorites over the Washington Nationals, and 85% of the money is on Houston tonight, per OddsFire. Still, the headliner pitching duel figures to keep scoring down for both sides, with neither team expected to reach four runs (the Astros edge the Nationals in implied team total 3.73 - 2.77).

For those unfamiliar with the single-game daily fantasy baseball format, scoring is identical to its full roster cousin, except you only roster hitters and lineups consist of five flex spots. The one twist? One of the five roster spots is your designated "MVP," who receives 2-times his total fantasy points, along with an "All-Star" slot that gets 1.5-times the points. Naturally, it's crucial that you choose your MVP and All-Star carefully if you want to be at the top of the leaderboards when it's all said and done.

On that note, let's highlight some of the top options for today's FanDuel single-game slate.
