3 Daily Fantasy Baseball Stacks for Tuesday 7/6/21
Stacks are the backbone of cashing daily fantasy baseball lineups. Correlation drives upside, creating the potential to place high or even win GPPs when your selected stacks explode offensively.
This column will do the digging and the dirty work to determine which stacks are worth rostering each day. Scoring upside will fuel the stacks that get the nod. Sometimes that will lead to chalky selections, but contrarian stacks will get their fair share of love too.

Let's take a look at the top stacks on today's main slate.
Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners have been a middling offense against right-handed pitchers this year. According to FanGraphs, they rank tied for 18th in weighted runs created plus (91 wRC+) against them. On the plus side, the M's have been in good form of late, though. Over the last 30 days, they're tied for 11th in wRC+ (106) and tied for 10th in isolated power (.175 ISO).
They have a plus matchup for extending their run of good play, too. To say Jameson Taillon's first season with the New York Yankees isn't going as either would like would be an understatement. He has a 5.43 ERA and 4.11 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) while coughing up 1.81 homers per nine innings in 15 starts lasting 69 and 2/3 innings. Rather than pitching to his more palatable SIERA, the train's gone off the tracks even further for Taillon of late. In his last five starts lasting only 22 innings, he's been hammered for a 6.14 ERA and 4.77 SIERA.
The right-handed pitcher has allowed a .325 weighted on-base average (wOBA) to right-handed batters, putting Seattle's righties in the stacking mix. However, it's Taillon's ineptitude against left-handed batters I'm specifically targeting. Taillon's coughed up a .535 slugging percentage and .375 wOBA to lefties in 2021.
J.P. Crawford ($2,900) offers left-handed exposure right out of the chute from the leadoff spot. He's been dialed in over the last 30 days, recording a .405 on-base percentage and 152 wRC+ in 121 plate appearances. Kyle Seager ($3,000) is a viable option with plus power, tallying a .215 ISO against righties this season.
Jake Fraley ($2,700) is easily my favorite option in this stack, though. He's torched right-handed pitchers for a .456 on-base percentage, .322 ISO, and 190 wRC+ this year. If you're looking for a potentially sneaky option, Taylor Trammell ($2,700) fits the bill with a .255 ISO against righties in his rookie campaign.
Texas Rangers
One tenet in daily fantasy baseball is having a short memory. Yes, the Texas Rangers scored only three runs last night in a game started by Wily Peralta. It's a poor showing in a plus matchup. They have another plus matchup for making things right, though, facing Jose Urena tonight.
Urena's been rocked for a 6.22 ERA and 5.28 SIERA this year. He's been extremely bad of late, too. The righty's lasted a paltry 18 innings in his last five starts, getting drilled for a 12.50 ERA and 5.98 SIERA. Also of note, he's yielded an eye-popping four homers per nine innings during this brutal stretch.
Urena's no great shakes against righties, ceding a .335 wOBA to them. However, he's a punching bag for lefties, getting thumped for a .565 slugging percentage and .405 wOBA by the 173 of them he's faced in 2021.
The three hitters I'm honed in on from the Rangers are Nathaniel Lowe ($2,600), Adolis Garcia ($3,200), and Joey Gallo ($4,200). Conveniently, they hit in the second through fourth spots in the lineup, boosting their collective ceiling through correlation. All three have a 120 wRC+ or higher against righties this year. Out of the trio, Garcia has the most power (.266 ISO) and performed at the highest level (133 wRC+) against righties for the entirety of the year. Gallo's been a man on fire, though, with a .453 on-base percentage, .425 ISO, and 206 wRC+ over the last 30 days.
San Francisco Giants
On a normal night, I would avoid stacking against Adam Wainwright. However, on a night Jacob deGrom is toeing the rubber, I'm willing to squint a little bit in hopes of seeing a viable stack that's affordable enough to roster around him. In the San Francisco Giants' case, they have a relatively compelling case for usage based on their own merit, despite the challenging matchup.
San Francisco's been one of baseball's best offenses against righties, ranking fourth in wRC+ (111) and first in ISO (.197) against them. Additionally, they have the third-highest wRC+ (122) and second-highest ISO (.208) over the last 30 days. They can rake.
The Giants have a deep lineup with stackable options throughout it, and my favorite options all bat left-handed, providing them the platoon advantage against the right-handed Waino. LaMonte Wade Jr ($2,900), Mike Yastrzemski ($3,200), Brandon Crawford ($3,300), and Steven Duggar ($2,800) comprise my favorite four-person stack from the Giants. Duggar has the lowest wRC+ of the group against righties this year at a blistering 147, Yastrzemski is next up with a 148 wRC+, and Crawford and Wade Jr. round things out with a 158 wRC+ and 160 wRC+, respectively.
