MLB Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 7/26/16

Danny Salazar has taken his walk rate down his past four starts, lessening the one true weakness in his game. What other players should we target today in MLB DFS?

The beauty of daily fantasy baseball is that the top targets are different each and every day. Whether it's the right-handed catcher who destroys left-handed pitching or the mid-range hurler facing a depleted lineup, you're not going to find yourself using the same assets time after time.

While this breaks up the monotony, it can make it hard to decide which players are primed to succeed on a given day. We can help bridge that gap.

In addition to our custom optimal lineups, you can check out our batting and pitching heat maps, which show the pieces in the best spot to succeed on that slate. Put on the finishing touches with our games and lineups page to see who's hitting where and what the weather looks like, and you'll have yourself a snazzy looking team to put up some big point totals.

If you need help getting started on that trek, here are some of the top options on the board today.

Pitchers to Target

High-Priced Pitchers

Danny Salazar ($10,100 on FanDuel): It's time to sound the alarm, people: Danny Salazar is starting to trim down his walk rate. He has issued only four free passes his past four starts, helping him post a 3.08 SIERA over that time. Because of Salazar's 27.4% strikeout rate, he has always had the upside we look for as a top-flight DFS option. Now, if he can keep his walk rate down, he'll have the floor, too. The Washington Nationals aren't a bad offense, and their 93 wRC+ against righties will get a boost today as they gain a designated hitter, but they're also not a team against which we should avoid Salazar, especially if his new-found control is sustainable.
