Mitch Haniger (knee) out of Mariners' lineup Monday night
Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger (knee) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Kenta Maeda and the Minnesota Twins.
Haniger was removed from Sunday's game and X-rays later revealed that he has a deep bone bruise in his left knee. He is considered day-to-day for now. Jake Bauers will cover right field on Monday. Ty France will play third base and bat third and Kyle Seager will cover the hot corner and hit cleanup. Jake Fraley will bat second as the Mariners' desginated hitter.
numberFire’s models project Seager for 9.9 FanDuel points and he has a $2,700 salary on Monday. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Mariners' implied total (3.8 runs) is fifth-lowest in the majors on Monday and Maeda has the third-best walk rate (5.8 percent) among the listed starters on tonight's slate.
