3 Daily Fantasy Basketball Players to Avoid on 3/5/18
In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.
You can find a ton of great information and research on guys you might want to include in your DFS NBA lineups, but what about guys you may want to lessen your exposure to, or even fade altogether?
Avoiding players whose matchups or situations aren't as great as they seem can often be just as important as finding the best targets. After all, it takes only one player to sink a lineup. Searching for the landmines could mean the difference between winning and losing your contests. Which players should we avoid tonight?
John Henson, C, Milwaukee Bucks
FanDuel Price: $6,100
John Henson has struggled this year versus the Indiana Pacers, and the defense of Myles Turner is a big reason why.
The Pacers are giving up the ninth-fewest fantasy points to centers this season, and Turner is holding players he defends to just 47.4% shooting overall and 52.8% shooting inside 10 feet. Henson is averaging just 21.8 FanDuel points per game versus the Pacers this season, and that could continue this evening on the road.
Jonathon Simmons, SF, Orlando Magic
FanDuel Price: $4,400
Jonathon Simmons has played well this season for the Orlando Magic, but tonight Orlando faces one of their tougher matchups of the season as they head out on the road against the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz are holding opposing small forwards to just 0.76 FanDuel points per minute, and in their last game against Utah, the Magic lost by 40 points at home. If they get blown out again tonight, Simmons might not see the playing time he needs to be a reliable fantasy asset.
Tyson Chandler, C, Phoenix Suns
FanDuel Price: $3,900
Tyson Chandler returned on Sunday night and put up six points and five rebounds in 26 minutes of action. With the Phoenix Suns on the second night of a back-to-back, there is a chance Chandler sees his minutes reduced -- or he could sit out altogether -- against the Miami Heat.
Even if Chandler does play, he has a rough one-on-one matchup with Hassan Whiteside, who has helped the Heat rank 13th-best at defending centers, per our numbers.
