March Madness: The Top 10 Individual Performances of the Opening Weekend
5. Troy Caupain, Cincinnati
Round of 64 vs. Kansas State
nERD: 56.57
23 points, 7 rebounds
Caupain helped the Bearcats blow away a tough Kansas State defense, as Cincinnati averaged more than 1.3 points per possession in their first-round win. The point guard was 7-for-10 from the field with a pair of three-pointers and assists. He also made all seven of his free throws.
Unfortunately for Cincinnati, Caupain was not nearly as efficient in a second-round loss at the hands of UCLA. He was 3-for-11 from the field with 4 turnovers, marking an uncharacteristic end to a very strong collegiate career.
Heckuva year for UC. Troy Caupain has been nothing but class his entire career. Has to be tough for UC fans to see him go.
