On the Rise: TCU Horned Frogs

Head coach Jamie Dixon may not have reached the NCAA Tournament in his first year leading his alma mater, but after an exemplary coaching run at Pittsburgh, last season was nothing short of a smashing success story.

Since joining the Big 12 in 2012-13, TCU had a losing record every year except one heading into the 2016-17 campaign. Yet Dixon guided the Horned Frogs to a 24-15 record, highlighted by a Big 12 tournament victory over Kansas, and a postseason run punctuated with an NIT championship.

Returning to a squad that ranked 29th in overall efficiency at Kenpom last year are seniors Kenrich Williams (11.4 points per game, NIT MVP) and Vladimir Brodziansky (14.1 points per game), and junior guard Alex Robinson (11.2 points per game). Kenpom projects TCU as a top-15 overall team this year.

If the Horned Frogs play at that kind of level, there's no doubt Dixon will be celebrating TCU's long awaited return to the Big Dance on Selection Sunday.
