6 Wide Receivers to Target Late in Your Fantasy Football Drafts

As Matt Blair wrote about a month ago, Drew Brees is kind of a crazy value in fantasy football leagues right now. Brees has averaged no worse than 18.9 fantasy points per game over the last four seasons, and Brees himself has finished third or better in fantasy points per game for quarterbacks in the last five seasons.

With a quarterback ranking so consistently at the top of the charts, there's plenty of love to spread the ball around. And New Orleans ranked tied for second in pass attempts in 2015 at 667 -- something consistent from them -- meaning Willie Snead will see ample opportunity for production.

In 2015, Snead racked up 69 catches for 984 receiving yards, good for WR3 fantasy production. He was one of 31 receivers who garnered 100-plus targets, but his lack of touchdown receptions are what point the arrow upward in 2016 for an even higher 2016.

Snead logged the third-lowest touchdown per target rate of the season (3 out of 102, or 1 touchdown per 34 targets). Only Mike Evans (1 per 48.33) and Jarvis Landry (1 per 41.75) converted less targets for scores of those 100 target receivers. Snead was actually highlighted by our own JJ Zachariason as a player who should score more touchdowns in 2016 based on his actualNet Expected Points (NEP) production in 2015.

Given a consistent offense and an atrocious defense that ranked last according to our metrics last year, Snead and the Saints will more likely see plenty of opportunity in the passing game this season. That means more fantasy points for your squad.
