5 Daily Fantasy Football Matchups to Exploit in Week 13

This time of year, toy shopping as a kid is simply overwhelming. Only the elite are able to keep their decision-making optimal.

With the holidays just around the corner, stores flood their shelves with the flashiest new attractions, and it's impossible to maintain focus while navigating the aisles. If there's a light-up Furby in one aisle, there's zero chance I'll notice the Great Date Ken right across from it. Having a boatload of options is great, but it also can force us to overlook some that are equally dope.

We're strolling through the toy section in Week 13 for daily fantasy football, and we're going to have to do our best not to let these stellar matchups slip through the cracks.

There are currently five games on Sunday's main slate alone with over/unders of 48 or higher. This means Vegas is licking its chops over all the points that could be scored this week, giving us options aplenty for DFS, oftentimes coming from the same game. If two offenses in the same game both have great matchups, it'd be easy to fixate on one and forget the other exists. Do you want to leave a treasure like Great Date Ken shivering alone on the shelf? Heck naw, yo.

Thankfully, we've got numberFire's Net Expected Points (NEP) to help us make sure no such travesties occur. This is the metric we use to track the efficiency of teams and players with the team marks being adjusted for strength of opponent.

Here's how NEP works. Prior to each play, there's an expected number of points the offense will score on its current drive. A three-yard completion on 3rd and 2 picks up a first down, extends the drive, and increases those points. That same three-yard completion on 3rd and 4, though, likely results in a punt, and NEP helps quantify the difference between the two outcomes.

There are too many options to list for Week 13. But here are five matchups we should be trying to exploit in daily fantasy football.
