The 10 Most Impactful Plays From Wild Card Weekend

With a lot of plays to choose from, which ones had the biggest impact on win probability from the NFL's wild card round?

Did you fall asleep watching one of the NFL's playoff games this weekend? You're probably not alone.

The four wild card round games weren't all that thrilling. That'll happen when you've got Connor Cook, Brock Osweiler, and Matt Moore under center for three of the eight teams playing. But the games did feature some crazy plays, and a lot of those plays created some big-time changes in win probability.

This may be shocking, but we like to quantify things here at numberFire. And one way we can make sports more interesting with numbers is by associating a win probability change with a play on a football field. If, for instance, a quarterback throws an interception, that pick will obviously change the chances a team has to win or lose a game. Depending on the down-and-distance, how far the intercepting team ran with the ball, and the score of the game, we can determine the exact change a play like that one -- an interception -- has on the odds for a team to win a specific game.

With that in mind, let's take a look at the 10 most impactful plays from this past weekend, all based on win probability changes.
