Andre Ellington Led All Running Backs With 14 Targets in Week 4

Even with David Johnson out, Andre Ellington has seen just 12 carries all season. But he has carved out a big role in the Arizona Cardinals passing game, as his 30 targets on the season are the 2nd-most on the team behind Larry Fitzgerald.

But in Week 4, Ellington doubled Fitzgerald's 7 targets. And Ellington became the first running back since Fred Jackson in Week 14 of the 2013 season to be targeted at least 14 times in a regular season game. He turned that heavy volume into a career-high 9 catches for 86 yards.

Ellington's targets have increased in each game this season, and he is on pace for 120. That would tie Johnson's mark from last season, which ranks fifth among running backs since at least 1999.

Against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5, we project Ellington to lead all running backs with 6.84 targets, making him appealing in PPR leagues.
