10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets Heading Into Week 9
Greg Olsen, TE, Carolina Panthers
Yahoo Ownership Percentage: 42%
Carolina Panthers Pro Bowl tight end Greg Olsen, on injured reserve since Week 2 with a broken foot, is eligible to return to practice next week. If cleared for contact, he can play as early as November 26th against the New York Jets.
While we don't yet have a firm timeline on when he will return to game action, Olsen is a talented enough player that he should preemptively be added in most formats as early as this week. The team has indicated that he will return to the practice field next week.
As a reminder, Olsen is the first tight end in NFL history with three straight 1,000-yard seasons, including 80 receptions for 1,073 yards last season. Once healthy, there is no reason to think he won't immediately reassert himself as one of the top tight ends in fantasy football.
He will look to invigorate a Panthers passing attack that has scored a total of two touchdowns in the past three weeks.
