Samaje Perine, RB, Washington Redskins
Yahoo Ownership Percentage: 34%
There was little to be impressed by when looking at Samaje Perine's early-season work. Going into Week 11 against the New Orleans Saints, Perine had 210 yards on 66 carries, equating to a pretty terrible 3.18 yards per carry. Perhaps all he needed was the mental boost of a starting nod to get him into gear.
Though the Washington Redskins blew a huge lead and lost, it was not Perine's fault. The rookie toted the ball 23 times for 117 yards and a score, adding 1 catch for 9 yards. That workload will likely only get bigger going forward as Chris Thompson broke his leg and is out for the season.
Perine should be set for at least 20-25 touches from now on and deserves consideration as a low-end RB2 going forward. In 14-plus team leagues, he is likely gone at this point. However, he should be widely available in 10- or 12-team leagues. If you want him, you'll need to be at the ready with your waiver pick or FAAB.
If you are weak at running back and need to make a splash, spend whatever you need to get him. He is the top priority at the position.
