Kenyan Drake Continues to Carry the Load
Without Damien Williams available for the Miami Dolphins the last two games, Kenyan Drake has averaged 24 carries, 5.5 targets, 4 receptions, and 50 receiving yards. Again: averaged.
Monday night against the New England Patriots was a revelation in particular because Drake worked solely as the team's primary back. Senorise Perry, for example, had a 17.91% snap rate with Williams inactive in Week 13 but saw that rate plummet to 1.37% Monday. In turn, Drake played 66 of 73 offensive snaps (90.41%) and was one of only two runners (Le'Veon Bell being the other) to post a snap rate above 90% in Week 14.
Williams practiced for the first time since Week 12 on Thursday but was a limited participant. Even if he's active, it's unlikely he cuts into Drake's volume immensely. And if that is the case, note that the Buffalo Bills currently rank dead last in rushing defense according to our metrics.
