The Ravens' Defense Without Jimmy Smith

The Baltimore Ravens currently boast the league's second-overall passing defense, according to our metrics. It's admittedly been a different unit recently without cornerback Jimmy Smith, though.

The Ravens have quietly allowed 10 passes of 20-plus yards and four passes of 40-plus yards without Smith in the last six quarters. For reference, those marks are actually 24.3% and 66.6% of the team's total explosive passes allowed this season.

Fortunately for the Cleveland Browns, Smith has been ruled out for the season with an Achilles' tear. That makes Josh Gordon an intriguing option in daily fantasy tournaments as he ranks third in average depth of target (19.4 yards) and fourth in air yards accumulated (330) among all receivers the last two weeks, according to Josh Hermsmeyer's airyards.com. Corey Coleman, meanwhile, ranks 17th overall in average depth of target (13.5) in that span and saw as many targets (6) as Gordon last week.
