Mitchell Trubisky, QB, Chicago Bears
DraftKings Price: $4,700
Rookies make mistakes, and the Chicago Bears' Mitchell Trubisky is no exception. He has only 7 touchdowns to 10 turnovers, has not had a game with multiple passing touchdowns, and has a completion percentage lower than 60% on the season. However, he's completely reversed his completion percentage issue in the past three weeks and has proven to have some fantasy upside of late.
In the three most recent games against the San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Detroit Lions, Trubisky has increased in completion percentage to a whopping 73.1%. Only Matthew Stafford (80.2%), Case Keenum (74.2%), and Drew Brees (73.3%) have a better completion percentage over that stretch. His 7.39 yards per attempt during those games ranks 14th during that period.
This week, the Bears have a matchup against a Cleveland Browns team that has given up 300 yards or multiple scores to opposing quarterbacks in 12 of 14 games this season. The Browns rank 29th against the pass by our schedule-adjusted metrics and have allowed quarterbacks to score at least 18.5 DraftKings points in six of their past seven games. At $4,700, Trubisky needs to do very little to hit the 14.1 DraftKings points that would equate to three-times value (3 points per $1,000 in salary). We project him for 16.5, and he's a guy to think about in tournaments.
