Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins

Yahoo! Ownership: 5%

After being virtually non-existent in the Miami Dolphins' offense the first two weeks -- 1 catch on 1 target for 11 yards -- rookie tight end Mike Gesicki came to life a bit in Week 3.

The 2018 second-round pick caught 3 passes for 31 yards in Miami's win over the Oakland Raiders. Nothing earth-shattering there, but the fact Gesicki was on the field for over 60% of the offensive plays shows he is trending in the right direction. On Sunday in New England, the rookie may be in line for his most substantial role of the season as starting tight end A.J. Derby has been sitting out of practice and looks doubtful to play in Week 4.

Despite the 'Phins spending a high pick on Gesicki, they have used Derby as their primary tight end to start the season, handing him a 56.6% snap percentage. With him likely out of the picture, Gesicki is in line to see significant playing time against a Patriots defense that has allowed the 10th-most passing yards. That plays right into the hands of the Miami passing game, as the offense may be forced to turn to the air more frequently with the Pats as 7.0-point home favorites.
