Chris Herndon, New York Jets

Yahoo! Ownership: 6%

We profiled Chris Herndon as a sleeper tight end last week, and he paid off with his third consecutive game with a touchdown. The low-owned New York Jets' tight end has heated up, racking up 7 catches for 114 yards and 3 scores since Week 6.

Over the last three weeks, Herndon is the sixth-best tight end in PPR leagues with 36.4 PPR points. His average of 12.1 PPR points per week is more than previously considered "elite" tight ends Rob Gronkowski, Greg Olsen, and Jordan Reed. As Sam Darnold's favorite weapon in the red zone, Herndon will have a great shot at making it four weeks in a row with a score versus the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Miami is coming off a dismal defensive performance against the Houston Texans in Week 8, a game in which they allowed Deshaun Watson to pass for five touchdowns. A couple of those scores went to tight end Jordan Thomas, pushing Miami to the top of the list in touchdowns allowed to tight ends this season.

Overall, the 'Fins give up the 11th-most PPR points to tight ends on the season. With the Jets likely coming from behind and chasing points -- 3.0-point underdogs in Week 9 -- the passing game may get extra work against the Dolphins' defense. With Miami ranking 27th in pass defense, according to our schedule-adjusted metrics, expect the New York passing game to find success, making Herndon worth a pickup in a bye-ravaged Week 9.
