5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 13
Drew Brees Scored 7.3 Fantasy Points
The New Orleans Saints' offense had been buzzing in the last few weeks, but they broke like the ocean upon rocks on Thursday Night Football in a 13-10 loss to the suddenly feisty Dallas Cowboys. It was a disappointing outing for all the Saints' offensive players, but none more so than Drew Brees.
No quarterback had more fantasy points between Weeks 9 and 12 than Brees, who amassed 122.75 in that span. Yet on Thursday, Brees finished with an ugly 127 passing yards and a touchdown, producing a mere 7.3 fantasy points. This is the second-lowest total for Brees this season as well as the third-lowest output in a game in which he threw for a touchdown in his entire career.
Brees, the Saints and his fantasy owners will hope that he is able to return to his pre-Cowboys form for the rest of the season, and there is every reason to assume that he will. The Saints face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers in their next two games before a Week 16 clash with the Steelers. The Buccaneers and Panthers are both in the top six in terms of fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks this season. And the Steelers have allowed at least 14 fantasy points to every quarterback they've faced in 2018, with the exception of Joe Flacco in Week 9 and Blake Bortles in Week 11.
