The Chiefs Don't Need Kareem Hunt at All

Last week, Kareem Hunt made headlines when video materials surfaced of him assaulting a woman in a hotel. The Chiefs quickly responded to the video by releasing the young running back. There has been and will continue to be a ton of discussion regarding the assault and the events that followed, but we know one thing for sure -- the Kansas City Chiefs didn't miss Hunt at all in Week 13.

Patrick Mahomes put on a clinic on the Oakland Raiders and finished as the highest-scoring player in fantasy pending the Monday night game. He was simply on fire, posting possibly his best game to date with 4 touchdowns, 295 passing yards and another 52 rushing yards without turning the ball over once.

The Chiefs went on to score 40 points over the Raiders, making it clear in the process that Hunt was not a vital cog of the offense. Spencer Ware struggled in his debut as the starter -- if not for his touchdown he would have produced just 51 yards and a terrible 16.67% Rushing Success Rate.

There's always concern when one of the major producers on an offense goes down (with an injury or to a suspension), but we don't have to worry about the Chiefs. With Mahomes as their quarterback, the Chiefs don't need Hunt to win -- or to keep putting up crazy numbers for fantasy football.
