Dalvin Cook Scores 29.3 Fantasy Points

The Minnesota Vikings fired their offensive coordinator John Defilippo last week, after apparently growing weary of his over-reliance on the passing game. The team certainly went out of their way to emphasize the run against the Miami Dolphins, in the first game with Kevin Stefanski calling the plays. The big winner of that situation was Dalvin Cook.

Cook’s 19 carries brought him 136 rushing yards on Sunday, his first 100-yard game since his Vikings debut in Week 1 of 2017. He also found the end zone twice, giving him his first career game with multiple touchdowns. Thanks to a 27-yard reception, Cook finished with 163 total yards, and a whopping 29.3 fantasy points.

There is every chance that Cook can finish the fantasy season with another strong outing next week, as the Vikings take on the Detroit Lions. The Lions have stiffened against the run in recent weeks, allowing less than 100 rushing yards to running backs in five of their last six games, but Cook should see enough volume to ensure he remains a player to trust in fantasy.
