Dallas Cowboys - Allen Hurns

Cap Savings: $5 million

Dead Money: $1.25 million

Following his release from the Jacksonville Jaguars last offseason, Allen Hurns quickly found a new home with the Dallas Cowboys. For a time, he appeared to be as close to a number-one receiver as the team was going to get after the 'Boys released Dez Bryant.

This status carried little chance of consistent production, however. The Cowboys were one of the league’s most run-heavy sides, especially before they traded for Amari Cooper, and Hurns had few opportunities to make plays. He played on less than 42% of the Cowboys' offensive snaps, caught a mere 20 passes for 295 yards and exceeded 49 yards in a game just once.

Hurns suffered a dislocated ankle and broken fibula in the NFC Wildcard round, but there are reports that point to his being ready for football by August. With Michael Gallup looking like a promising young wideout and the Cowboys needing cap space to extend Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott and Cooper, Hurns will almost certainly make his return from injury in a different uniform.
