5 Reasons Why Jaron Brown Will Be 2015’s Waiver Wire Darling

As I noted in our article last week about 2014’s most efficient fantasy players on a per-snap basis, Brown was the 26th-most efficient wide receiver by this metric, tying with the likes of Steve Smith and Golden Tate.

On just 210 snaps last season, Brown went into a pass route 136 times (64.8%). He did only receive 33 targets over the course of the season, for a usage percentage of 24.3%. When we consider that his fantasy efficiency peer Smith ran 535 routes and had 130 targets on those routes, also a usage percentage of 24.3%, we can see the Brown actually became a fairly trusted weapon for the Cardinals when he was in.

To top it off, his 22 receptions of 33 targets actually isn’t as bad as it looks. He actually had just two dropped passes last season -- both in his first start against the vaunted Seattle defense -- while the hodgepodge under center for the Cardinals threw away eight others. A 91.7% catch rate on catchable passes isn’t half bad.
