Quarterback: Ben Roethlisberger

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers
21 for 27, 369 Yards, 3 Touchdowns, 1 Rush, -1 Yard
NEP: +26.50

In a game that was never really close at any time, Ben Roethlisberger torched the San Francisco defense as Pittsburgh soundly won their home opener 43-18.

Throwing for 369 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, Big Ben had both a productive and wildly efficient Sunday afternoon. Completing on 21 of his 27 drop backs, Roethlisberger was able to connect with Antonio Brown for nearly half those completions, as Brown finished the day with 9 receptions for 195 yards and a score.

Roethlisberger wasn't afraid to take deep shots, either. His yards per attempt now pace the league at a hefty 11.08, well above second place Philip Rivers' 9.35. He even found a way to make Darrius Heyward-Bey look good, reeling in 4 of 5 targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. Big Ben is in the zone right now and scored the most fantasy points for the week. Now, he gets Le'Veon Bell back from suspension next week in what could become a frighteningly efficient offense.

Week 2 saw some surprising other candidates rise to the top of numberFire's Net Expected Points leaderboard. Derek Carr, Blake Bortles, and Teddy Bridgewater were all able to put up big numbers at home though most were written off as underdogs this week. Quarterbacks Matt Ryan and Eli Manning dueled in the Meadowlands where both utilized their superstar receivers to vault themselves towards the top of numberFire's efficiency metrics.
