3. Tennessee Titans

2015 Rank: 18
2014 Rank: 31
Rise: 13 spots

After a 31st-place finish in 2014, the Titans were likely thrilled to finish in the middle of the pack in 2015. The Titans’ strength was defending the run, where they finished 14th in part thanks to Avery Williamson and Michael Griffin each surpassing 100 tackles on the season.

With Perrish Cox and Jason McCourty getting banged up after contributing to a surprisingly decent pass defense, Tennessee fell apart late in the season and placed just 29th against the pass as teams easily exploited Coty Sensabaugh and Blidi Wreh-Wilson.

For a while, the Titans were able to pressure the quarterback, and Brian Orakpo and Jurrell Casey each closed the season with seven sacks.
