2.08: Braxton Miller, WR, Houston Texans

Drafter Comments

"Miller only had 26 receptions during senior season, but that was only months after he converted to playing wide receiver. He picked up the position quickly -- he caught three passes for 79 yards and a touchdown, while rushing five times for 61 yards and another touchdown in his first game -- which adds intriguing dynasty upside if he can continue to grow at the position. Among all wide receivers at this year's NFL Combine, he had the fastest time in both the 20-yard shuttle and the 60-yard shuttle, as well as the third fastest time in the three-cone drill. The Texans incumbent starter in the slot is Cecil Shorts, who has never played a full 16 games during any season in his career, and Miller also has the ability to lineup in the backfield for extra touches -- he averaged 6.2 yards per carry in his only year as a wide receiver after racking up double-digit rushing touchdowns in each of the previous two years." -- Barry Cohen

Other Comments

"Miller has a lot of work to do, but he's already made great strides as a receiver in a short time. His greatest strength is his ability to make plays after the catch. The Texans have revamped their offense this off-season and can afford to be patient with him. Considering the lack of depth in this class, Miller is worthwhile gamble at this price." -- Austan Kas

"Miller has tremendous athleticism, as evidenced by his 10.72 agility score, but I ultimately believe he is playing the wrong position. If Miller wants to ever be successful in this league, I think it will have to come as a running back, a position that is loaded right now for Houston. A position and team change is probably not something I will be gambling on much this summer." -- Anthony Amico
