David Johnson, RB, Arizona Cardinals

By Brian Jester

It's hard not to be ecstatic about David Johnson's 2016 prospects.

Erupting after he took over the starting duties in Week 13 last year, coupled with his huge fantasy playoff performance in Week 15 against the Eagles, expectations are sky-high this season.

But with a first-round average draft cost, you're making a huge bet for continued success.

Of his first-round running back peers, Johnson is by far the worst -- and most unnatural -- inside runner. Last year, he averaged 5.88 yards per carry on outside runs while only managing 3.00 on inside runs. Johnson struggled against tougher run defenses down the stretch last year, too, and his fantasy production was buoyed by his receiving prowess.

While he's explosive on the edge and a dangerous receiver, the Cardinals' coaching staff is still hinting at a committee and not using Johnson if he doesn't have the hot hand. Give me a first-round back who is a better inside runner and one that has the complete confidence from his coaching staff in being a workhorse.
