3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 4
Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing productive quarterbacks who have good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.
Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.
In Week 3, we got our third straight top-12 performance to start the season as Jacoby Brissett put up 20.80 points to finish as the week's QB11. That gives us 67.04 points for the year, good enough for the overall QB7.
If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks owned in fewer than roughly 30% of Yahoo! leagues who are in good spots this week.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants
Yahoo Ownership: 18%
Man, fantasy football can be crazy. If in July, you would've told me I'd be writing up these three players as Week 4 streamers, I would've been very confused.
But here we are, and all three are in nice spots, ranking as top-13 signal callers for the week.
So, you may have heard -- Daniel Jones showed out in his debut, racking up four touchdowns (two passing and two rushing) on his way to 34.24 fantasy points. He's got roughly seven fewer fantasy points than Aaron Rodgers does this season, and Jones has, ya know, played one game.
Jones was the QB2 last week, and our models love him in his Week 4 home matchup with Washington as he's our QB10 this week. While the next two guys are in money spots, as well, what gives Jones the edge is his legs. The running ability raises his floor and his ceiling. He also recorded five deep-ball attempts last week, and he's taking on a Washington D that is third-worst overall as well as third-worst versus the pass, per our schedule-adjusted numbers. Leggo.
Jacoby Brissett, Indianapolis Colts
Yahoo Ownership: 20%
Brissett delivered for us last week, and if you have him and don't want to spend the necessary FAAB or burn a waiver claim on Jones, you can just stick with the Indianapolis Colts' quarterback.
Brissett has been solid through three games -- 16.50, 16.34 and 20.80 fantasy points -- offering a steady floor, and he draws a dope home matchup with the Oakland Raiders. Oakland is the league's fourth-worst defense, per our numbers, and they are giving up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. The Colts' 25.75-point implied total is the highest among the teams of the three quarterbacks in this piece.
We project Brissett for 17.13 fantasy points in Week 4, and he's our QB13.
Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers
Yahoo Ownership: 12%
Mason Rudolph struggled for most of his Week 3 clash with the San Francisco 49ers, but that was on the road versus a San Fran defense that's been the third-best unit against the pass so far in 2019.
The Pittsburgh Steelers' passer is in a much, much better spot this week as he's at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincy owns the 11th-worst pass D through three games, according to our numbers, and they're surrendering the 13th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
Rudolph is this week's QB11, per our projections, and he's firmly on the streaming radar.
