4 NFL FanDuel Studs to Target in Week 9

We are halfway through the NFL season. Where did the time go?

As is the case when playing any sport on FanDuel, it’s imperative to hit on the high-priced players in your lineup. They require a big chunk of your salary, and when paying up for a player, you shouldn’t have to worry about him letting down your lineup.

Here are four studs who should prove to be worth their high price tag.

Russell Wilson, QB, Seattle Seahawks

FanDuel Price: $8,600
Projected Points: 22.1

It's Russell Wilson's world, and we are just witnesses to his greatness.

So far this year, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback has had no fantasy equal. He's been outstanding this season and currently holds a juicy 23.3 FanDuel point-per-game average. That'll play.

He's doing all of that in spite of an offense that ranks as the fourth-heaviest rushing attack (1.07 pass-to-run ratio), but he has been insanely efficient.

In terms of Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back, among passers with 100 or more drop backs, Wilson ranks fifth (0.29), and his Passing Success Rate (52.79%) is off the charts.

This game should see points as its 52.5 over/under sets up nicely for Wilson and the Hawks, who are projected for the highest implied team total of the day (28.50 points).

Look for a big day from the Seattle signal-caller.

Dalvin Cook, RB, Minnesota Vikings

FanDuel Price: $9,500
Projected Points: 22.2

While it may not seem obvious that Dalvin Cook is a great play in a matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, he certainly is someone to rev your engines about.

This isn't one of the two contests with an over/under greater than 40 points, but it sits pretty close at 48. The Chiefs rank only 28th against the run, and their 24.74 implied team total ranks fourth on the main slate.

There's no question that Cook is the workhorse in Minnesota, and his high floor shows just that. He's posted 15-plus FanDuel points in every game but one, and he looks to better that effort this week. Look for the stud running back to go off in Week 9.

Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks

FanDuel Price: $7,500
Projected Points: 14.2

When your quarterback is projected for the highest score of the day, and your team has the highest implied team total of the day, it's not a bad idea to roster a pass catcher in this group.

That makes Tyler Lockett a pretty attractive option this week, and his 21.6% target market share should provide him with a plethora of pass-catching opportunities.

Tampa Bay clocks in 23rd against the pass, and they've allowed the fifth-most points to opposing wide receivers in 2019 (42.5 points-per-game). If you are looking for a solid stack, peep Lockett.

Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

FanDuel Price: $8,200
Projected Points: 14.2

Staying in the same game with this monster total, Chris Godwin comes off a quiet week, and he should be ready to score big.

Lost in Seattle's strong start has been their poor pass defense -- it ranks 22nd this year -- and they've been lit up through the air by Julio Jones (10 catches, 154 yards), Odell Beckham (6-101), and Cooper Kupp (9-117), just to name a few.

And while the Bucs are underdogs, they still have a solid implied team total (24.00 points), and a negative game script could lead to a heavy pass effort. For an offense that sports a 1.57 pass-to-run ratio, that's music to folks that roster Godwin.

We have him pegged for the third-most FanDuel points this week, so consider the Tampa Bay pass catcher.
