FanDuel Single-Game Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 9 Sunday Night

Week 9's Sunday Night Football clash features an exciting showdown between the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. Following the main slate of action, fantasy enthusiasts can stay involved throughout the night by playing in FanDuel's Sunday night's single-game contests.

For those unfamiliar, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.

Bookmakers currently peg the Patriots as 3.0-point favorites with a 44.5-point over/under. With a projected high-scoring affair in store, here are the notable matchups to target on this slate.

MVP Consideration

Lamar Jackson ($16,000) - With quarterbacks carrying more importance on single-game slates, Lamar Jackson stands out above Tom Brady due his rushing equity. Leading all quarterback with 576 rushing yards, Jackson's legs give him one of the highest floors at the position as well as raising his ceiling. Also averaging 206 passing yards per game, Jackson should benefit from the return of Marquise Brown. The Patriots ranking first in pass defense, according to our schedule-adjusted metrics, could scare some people away from using Lamar in the MVP spot, but his floor/ceiling combination is superb.

Julian Edelman ($14,000) - Averaging 10 targets per game, Julian Edelman is a great way to get exposure to the Patriots' offense. Baltimore's defense is a middle-of-the-pack unit in most pass defense metrics. Edelman averages 71.8 receiving yards per game and is functioning as Brady's top target. He deserves a look in the MVP slot.

Mark Andrews ($10,500) - While the Patriots' defense is as stout as it gets, Mark Andrews provides a contrarian option at the caption slot this week. Andrews currently leads Baltimore in targets, averaging 7.9 per game. New England has allowed the second-fewest passing yards to the tight end position this season (225), but Andrews often moves into the slot to find advantageous matchups. Andrews offers leverage in this spot.

Value Plays

Marquise Brown ($8,500) - Expected to return from a multi-week ankle injury, Marquise Brown should resume his role as the top receiver for Jackson. Prior to the injury, Brown averaged 7.8 targets and 106.6 air yards per game. The Patriots have allowed the second-fewest yards to the wide receiver position, but Brown's target volume and big-play ability keeps him in play this week.

Mohamed Sanu ($7,500) - Traded to New England prior to the trade deadline, Mohamed Sanu played 54 percent of the snaps in his debut. Sanu also received five targets, securing two catches for 23 catches. With his role likely to increase as he gains familiarity with the offense, Sanu has a chance to out-produce his $7,500 price tag. So far this season, Baltimore has allowed the eighth-most receiving yards to wideouts (1,364).

Rex Burkhead ($5,500) - With James White popping up on the Patriots' injury report, Rex Burkhead is an intriguing punt play on this slate. Injured for part of the year, Burkhead played on 19 percent of New England's snaps last week. While Burkhead saw only four touches in that one, a limited White would give him upside in this offense.
