3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streaming Options for Week 12

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing productive quarterbacks who have good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Deshaun Watson as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

In Week 11, Kyle Allen flopped at home versus the Atlanta Falcons, tossing four picks and posting just 5.7 fantasy points. That made him the QB25 for the week. Hopefully you were able to get Derek Carr in your league.

Overall for the season, we've had a QB1 (top-12) outing in seven of 11 weeks, and our per-week average of 16.08 fantasy points is good for the season-long QB16 in points per game among signal callers who have made at least five starts.

Sam Darnold, Jets

Yahoo Ownership: 22%

This feels like point chasing after Sam Darnold's 25.42-point outing in Week 11, but the New York Jets' offense has another great matchup this week as they host the Oakland Raiders. Oakland's pass defense ranks seventh-worst in the league, per our schedule-adjusted metrics, and they are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks.

Darnold could implode in any matchup, but he's shown the ability to take advantage of good spots. In addition to his big game last week against Washington, he put up 21.7 points versus the New York Giants in Week 10, though his back-to-back good outings came after an underwhelming 12.5-point day against the Miami Dolphins.

Our models rank Darnold as this week's QB17, projecting him for 15.22 fantasy points.

Ryan Tannehill, Titans

Yahoo Ownership: 21%

Right on Darnold's heels, per our models, is Ryan Tannehill in a home date with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Tannehill's real-world play hasn't been superb by any means, but he's scored at least 18.94 fantasy points in each of his four starts, showing a very useable floor. He's got sneaky-good running ability, too, with 38 and 37 rushing yards in his past two outings, lifting his floor and ceiling.

Jacksonville's pass D is a middle-of-the-road unit for the year, according to our metrics, and the loss of Jalen Ramsey makes this a more appealing spot for Tannehill.

Our projections forecast the Tennessee Titans' passer for 14.75 points, making him our QB18.

Mitchell Trubisky, Bears

Yahoo Ownership: 19%

As long as Mitchell Trubisky is good to go after exiting Week 11 with a hip injury, he's a decent streaming play at home versus the Giants. The G-Men have surrendered the ninth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks and check in as the ninth-worst pass defense by our schedule-adjusted numbers.

Obviously, Trubisky is having a brutal season and would be hard to trust right now against a Big 12 defense, but he put up solid days against two of his easier matchups this campaign, scoring 19.44 points against Washington and getting to the Detroit Lions for 19.72 points. While he hasn't run for more than 15 yards in a game this season, Trubisky used his legs a lot in 2018, running for at least 20 yards in eight games. Getting back to scrambling would be a massive boost for Trubisky's fantasy outlook.

If you're desperate, Trubisky isn't a terrible play this week. If he sits, Chase Daniel is in the same boat. Shoot, Daniel might be a better option.
