FanDuel Single-Game Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 5 Sunday Night (Bengals at Ravens)

Baltimore's Lamar Jackson stands out as numberFire's top option with a 23.2 FanDuel point projection. Which other players should be considered for Sunday night's single-game slate?

In a unique fantasy format, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests, and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.

Our Brandon Gdula has done a deep dive on single-game strategy, and we have projections for the single-game slate if you select the game from the slate tab. It's worth checking out both of those things before you make your lineups.

MVP Candidates

Lamar Jackson ($17,000): In a tough spot versus a Cincinnati unit ranked fifth (11.7) in FanDuel points allowed per game to quarterbacks, Jackson rates as numberFire's clear leader by 3.5 FanDuel points with a 23.2 fantasy projection. Despite his tough matchup, Baltimore's dual-threat quarterback has a sneaky spot for a ceiling performance when evaluating his rushing projection including 9.4 attempts for 53.3 yards and Cincinnati's defensive pass funnel tendencies (64.4% opposing passing play percentage).

Joe Burrow ($15,500): Cincinnati's passing offense also has an elevated opportunity to attack a leaky Baltimore defense ranked 31st in FanDuel points allowed per game to quarterbacks (24.9) while also being passed on the second most in the league (66.7%). As numberFire's second overall option with a 19.7 FanDuel point projection, Burrow has a great chance to exceed his expected numbers especially when considering his previous success in this matchup last season including averages of 30.0 completions for 470.5 yards and 3.5 touchdowns.

Mark Andrews ($14,000): As Baltimore's clear top receiving threat with 6.2 projected receptions for 81.6 yards and 0.64 touchdowns on 9.6 targets, Andrews will challenge a Bengals' defense rated 14th (8.1) in FanDuel points allowed per game to tight ends while also giving up five receptions for 61.2 yards on seven targets. Per Stat Muse in five games without Rashod Bateman last season, the 27-year old hauled in 5.8 receptions for 80.0 yards on 7.6 targets.

Ja'Marr Chase ($13,500): Ranking first among tonight's pass catchers with 92.3 yards on 9.3 targets, Cincinnati's explosive second-year wideout has a mouth-watering opportunity against a Ravens secondary allowing an eye-popping 41.2 FanDuel points per game to receivers and 17 receptions for 242 yards on 26.8 targets. During his rookie season, Chase roasted his division rivals in both of his contests against Baltimore, averaging 7.5 receptions for 163.0 yards on 10.0 targets.

Joe Mixon ($12,500): In an undervalued spot versus a Ravens' team allowing 19.3 FanDuel points and 24.8 touches for 136.4 scrimmage yards per game to running backs , Mixon leads Sunday night's slate in total scrimmage yards (96.7) and touches (21.4). Baltimore's defense has been allowed the second most pass volume to backfields with 10.2 targets to the position per game this season.

Tee Higgins ($12,000): Even as numberFire's third overall pass catcher with 5.4 receptions for 79.1 yards on 8.4 targets, Higgins is an overall underrated option when playing alongside Ja'Marr Chase, averaging 5.2 receptions 78.1 yards on 7.7 targets in 18 games last season.

Flex Considerations

J.K. Dobbins ($11,500): After seeing an increase to a 50% offensive snap percentage in Week Four, Dobbins handled 17 touches for 63 scrimmage yards including four receptions on four targets. The 23-year old running back has played an active role in the red zone with six total touches inside the five-yard line including five rushes and one reception.

Tyler Boyd ($10,000): In a primary slot role (83.3%), Boyd ranks fifth overall among tonight's pass catchers in receiving (39.6) and sixth in targets (4.6). On 168 pass snaps this season, the 27-year old has been registered a 92.3% route participation while also seeing two targets inside the opposing ten-yard line.

Devin Duvernay ($9,000): As Baltimore's top receiver without Rashod Bateman, the 25-year old wideout has a matchup against a Cincinnati team allowing 24.9 FanDuel points per game and 13 receptions for 158 yards on 22.8 targets to receivers. With four targets inside the ten-yard line including two inside the five, Duvernay has an attractive role in the red zone in addition to tonight's fourth ranked amount of targets (6.2).

Justin Tucker ($9,000) / Evan McPherson ($8,500): Baltimore's reliable veteran has been perfect kicking in nine games at home since 2021, converting all 17 field goal attempts and 19 extra point opportunities while McPherson has produced 2.1 field goals on 2.2 attempts and a 95.8% conversion rate on 24 extra point chances in his career on the road.

Hayden Hurst ($8,000): In a matchup against a Baltimore team allowing 4.2 receptions per game for 33.2 yards on 6.2 targets and 5.3 FanDuel points in the red zone to his position, Cincinnati's tight end has seen undervalued usage when it matters most with three targets inside the opposing ten-yard line including two inside the five.

Demarcus Robinson ($6,500): Ranking second among his team in value (1.13 rating), Baltimore's veteran wideout is a sneaky option as their third rated pass catcher with 3.2 receptions for 38.1 yards on 5.3 targets.

Isaiah Likely ($5,500): In a versatile role lining up 69.9% of his snaps in the slot, 20.5% out wide, and 9.6% in-line, Baltimore's rookie tight end ranks fourth among his team in receiving with 2.1 catches for 24.1 yards on 3.2 targets.
