FanDuel Single-Game Daily Fantasy Football Helper: Week 14 Sunday Night (Dolphins at Chargers)

In a great matchup versus a defense allowing 25.1 FanDuel points per game to quarterbacks, Miami's Tua Tagovailoa is numberFire's top option on Sunday night. Who else should be considered in Week 14's showdown between Miami and Los Angeles?

In a unique fantasy format, single-game slates feature five flex spots with identical scoring to the main slate. However, kickers are included in these contests, and there is an "MVP" roster slot. The MVP receives 1.5-times his total fantasy points, making this spot crucial.

MVP Candidates

Justin Herbert ($16,500): In a great matchup against a Miami defense ranked 29th in FanDuel points allowed (20.8) and 14th (1.6) in opposing pass touchdowns, Herbert ranks second overall with 19.9 FanDuel points. Los Angeles has been extremely reliant on their quarterback to move the chains, recording the second highest pass percentage (66.4%) this season and the third highest rate (67.9%) in their last three games.

Tua Tagovailoa ($16,000): After a disappointing performance in Week 13, Tagovailoa has a prime opportunity to hit a ceiling outcome versus a struggling Los Angeles defense missing one of their best players in Derwin James while also allowing the second most passing touchdowns (2.3) in their last three appearances. According to Field Yates, Miami's quarterback has thrived against man coverage (first in quarterback rating, yards per attempt, and completion percentage) which the Chargers employ at the highest rate this season.

Tyreek Hill ($15,500): Ranking first among tonight's pass catchers in receptions (7.2), yardage (100.4), receiving touchdowns (0.77), and targets (10.8), the Dolphins' explosive wideout warrants MVP consideration against a Chargers' unit allowing 11.8 receptions for 148.8 yards and 1.0 touchdown per game to wideouts. According to Player Profiler against man coverage, Hill ranks tenth among all wideouts in win rate (46.9%) and third in target percentage (35.6%) while also accounting for 2.15 fantasy points per target.

Austin Ekeler ($15,000): Despite recent struggles with his rushing production, Ekeler remains an elite fantasy option as a pass catcher with a 21.5% target share. Even though Miami has done a great job versus the run (18.6 rushing attempts for 69.8 yards per game), the Dolphins have allowed running backs to produce 20.3 FanDuel points per game including 5.3 receptions for 42.8 yards on 6.8 targets.

Flex Considerations

Jaylen Waddle ($12,500): After leaving Week 13's game early with a fibula injury, Miami's second-year wideout is good to go versus a defense ranked 12th in FanDuel points (26.5) allowed per game to his position. Waddle's metrics versus man coverage include a 40.0% win rate (26th among wideouts), a 21.6% target percentage (56th), and 2.37 fantasy points per target (7th).

Keenan Allen ($12,000): Coming off his best fantasy performance and his highest offensive snap percentage (96.0%) this season in Week 13, Allen will attempt to continue his recent momentum versus a Miami team allowing 27.0 fantasy points to wideouts. In a primary slot role (67.5%), Allen's Sunday night expectation includes 5.4 receptions for 60.3 yards on 8.2 targets.

Mike Williams ($11,000): In his second attempt to return from his high ankle sprain, Williams ranks fourth among his team's skill position players with 9.2 expected fantasy points including 3.7 receptions for 50.6 yards and 0.37 touchdowns on 6.3 targets. "Big Mike" has been utilized in a versatile role this season with 20.7% of his targets occurring 20 or more yards, 31.0% in a medium depth (10-19 yards), and 43.1% within nine yards.

Jeff Wilson ($10,500): Despite losing the lead in Miami's backfield last week, Wilson has an optimal spot to regain some trust versus a defense ranked 29th (25.1) in FanDuel points allowed per game to running backs. numberFire's models currently expect Wilson to record 11.2 rushing attempts for 51.6 yards and 2.2 receptions for 17.3 yards.

Raheem Mostert ($9,500): In his return from a knee injury, Mostert saw the most running back touches among his team in Week 13 with seven rushing attempts. When considering the ambiguous nature of Miami's backfield, Mostert could provide more value at a lower salary with 10.2 rushing attempts for 50.7 yards and 1.2 receptions for 9.1 yards.

Jason Sanders ($9,500) / Cameron Dicker ($9,000): The Dolphins' veteran kicker has converted 65.4% of his 26 field goal attempts and 97.0% of his extra point tries in 14 road games since last season while Dicker has accounted for a 92.3% field goal percentage in 13 total attempts.

Gerald Everett ($8,500): The Chargers' tight end is projected for 3.7 targets in a sneaky spot versus a Dolphins' team ranked 30th in FanDuel points (12.3) allowed per game to his position. Everett has seen a decent amount of volume in the red zone with four targets within the opposing five yard line.

Mike Gesicki ($7,000): Despite inconsistent playing time, the 27-year old is ranked third among his team in targets (3.9) versus a Los Angeles unit giving up 4.1 receptions for 59.5 yards on 6.6 targets to tight ends.
