10 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets Heading Into Week 17

If you're fortunate enough to still be playing, there is no reason to rest now.

Here are some of the best additions you can make to your squads this week. (I'll stick to players rostered on no more than 50% of Yahoo teams and also list some other viable pickups who may be available in shallower leagues or relevant only in deeper leagues.)

Running Backs
Tyler Allgeier, Falcons

Roster Percentage: 49%

Through all of Sunday's games, Tyler Allgeier ranks 14th in snap rate among running backs for Week 16.

Allgeier played on 60.3% of the Atlanta Falcons' snaps this past week, and those 41 snaps led to 18 carries and 5 targets for the rookie.

Allgeier turned his chances into 117 scrimmage yards and now faces a beatable Arizona Cardinals rush defense.

Chuba Hubbard, Panthers

Roster Percentage: 41%

Chuba Hubbard and the Carolina Panthers decimated the Detroit Lions on the ground in Week 16.

Hubbard accounted for 125 rushing yards on his 12 carries. He didn't draw a target on his 9 routes (a 40.9% route rate) but is the pass-catching back in the offense. D'Onta Foreman ran just four routes by comparison.

Hubbard had an identical snap rate to Foreman (44.6%) and -- despite a matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week -- is a viable late-season addition in such a run-heavy offense.

Zack Moss, Colts

Roster Percentage: 44%

Regardless of what happens on Monday night, an Indianapolis Colts running back (presumably Zack Moss and/or Deon Jackson [27%]) is surely going to be a waiver-wire target for us entering Week 17.

Jonathan Taylor is on injured reserve, and with Taylor limited in Week 15, we saw Moss get a 67.1% snap rate and 24 carries and a target.

Jackson played on 31.6% of the team's snaps and had 13 carries and a target.

We'll need to monitor the Week 16 usage, but Moss is very likely going to be a priority if he's still available in your league.

Khalil Herbert, Bears

Roster Percentage: 40%

In Week 16, Khalil Herbert returned from a four-game absence to play on 40.7% of the Chicago Bears' snaps. He had 6 carries and 3 targets on his 24 snaps.

Though the yardage was abysmal (3 scrimmage yards), a matchup against the Lions awaits the run-heavy Bears. We should see much better efficiency from Herbert in his secondary role behind David Montgomery in Week 17.

Others to Consider:
James Cook (52%), Gus Edwards (41%), Damien Harris (50%), Deon Jackson (27%), Justin Jackson (1%) Royce Freeman (0%)

Wide Receivers
Jahan Dotson, Commanders

Roster Percentage: 23%

Jahan Dotson is really starting to break out and separate within the Washington Commanders' offense.

Dotson led receivers in route rate (97.2%) and targets (9) in Week 16. He scored and had 76 yards on that opportunity. Notably, he had 2 of 5 red zone targets on Saturday, as well.

DJ Chark, Lions

Roster Percentage: 50%

DJ Chark has a good role while in the shadow of Amon-Ra St. Brown.

In Week 16, Chark had an 81.8% route rate and drew 5 targets on those 36 routes, targets he turned into 108 yards.

His average target depth was 14.0 yards, and it's now 16.3 for the full season. That gives added value to his targets, and if you account for the fantasy value of downfield and red zone targets better, his 4.9 targets per game are equivalent to 7.3 targets per game.

Isaiah Hodgins, Giants

Roster Percentage: 2%

While it's true that Richie James (17%) had more targets (12) than Isaiah Hodgins (11) in Week 16, Hodgins ran more routes (43 to 39), outperformed him in catch rate over expectation (+16.8% to -9.8%), and had a better average target depth (9.1 to 7.4).

Both James and Hodgins are addable. However, Hodgins shouldn't be overlooked in favor of James due to a single target discrepancy from Week 16.

Corey Davis, Jets

Roster Percentage: 16%

We saw Corey Davis' role be really good in Week 16. He returned after a one-game absence to play a season-high 96.4% snap rate and run 97.2% of the New York Jets' routes, also a season-best.

Although Davis caught just 2 of 7 targets for 14 yards, it's hard to hate on that role, one that led to 107 air yards and a lot of underlying value.

Others to Consider:
Brandin Cooks (54%), Richie James (17%), Kendrick Bourne (1%), Chris Moore (14%), Chase Claypool (41%), Tutu Atwell (1%), Demarcus Robinson (19%)

Tight Ends
Daniel Bellinger, Giants

Roster Percentage: 3%

The receivers aren't the only targets for the New York Giants this week as tight end Daniel Bellinger is making a late-season push for fantasy relevancy.

Bellinger secured a 98.5% snap rate and an 88.9% route rate in Week 16. His 40 routes led to a disappointing 2 targets, but it's a strong role that should not be overlooked due to the target total.

Bellinger, since a Week 13 return, has a 10.7% target share and an 89.4% snap rate.

Others to Consider:
Taysom Hill (55%), Tyler Conklin (27%), Juwan Johnson (31%), Jordan Akins (1%), Noah Fant (24%)

Defenses
Washington D/ST

Roster Percentage: 27%

The Washington D/ST has had consecutive disappointing outings from a fantasy standpoint but now brings the league's top adjusted rush defense to a matchup against the Cleveland Browns for a strength-on-strength matchup.

Deshaun Watson has been one of the NFL's least efficient passers by expected points models in his four games so far this season.

It's a big game for Washington's playoff hopes, and they're at home, too.
