Report: Sam Darnold dealing with 'significant' foot sprain, Jets say day-to-day
New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold (foot) is day-to-day with what is reportedly a "significant" foot sprain, head coach Todd Bowles said.
It sounds like more of a week-to-week issue, as multiple reports have said Darnold will sit out Week 10 and then be re-evaluated after the Jets' Week 11 bye. Despite Bowles refusing to rule the rookie out, it'll be Josh McCown making his first start of the season on Sunday versus the Buffalo Bills.
Darnold is averaging 13.1 FanDuel points through nine games this season. He's throwing for 214.9 yards on a 55.0 completion percentage per contest with 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
