Bears get Nick Foles from Jaguars for 4th-rounder
The Chicago Bears acquired quarterback Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a 2020 fourth-round pick, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Foles didn't fare well during his only season in Jacksonville, as he broke his collarbone in the opener and went 0-4 as a starter before being replaced by sixth-round pick Gardner Minshew. Despite the lousy year, Foles could wind up stealing the starting job away from Mitchell Trubisky in Chicago.
Foles averaged 10.4 FanDuel points and 184.0 passing yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions for the Jaguars in 2019. His average depth of target (8.4) was higher than Trubisky's (7.9), but his added Net Expected Points per pass attempt (-0.08) was lower (0.01).
