Packers make move to take Jordan Love in first round
The Green Bay Packers selected Utah State quarterback Jordan Love with the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The Packers gave up the 30th and 136th picks to move up four spots to select Aaron Rodgers' apparent replacement. Love fits the ideal physical mold of a quarterback, but he struggled with consistency and accuracy at college, tending to thrive in advantageous situations and struggling in difficult ones. After impressing with 32 touchdowns and 6 interceptions as a sophomore, Love only managed a 20:17 ratio last year. He has the looks of a boom-or-bust prospect, but Love should benefit from learning behind Rodgers before being handed over the reins.
Love completed 62.0 percent of his passes for 3,402 yards (7.2 per attempt) in his last season at Utah State. He finished 101st overall in Pro Football Focus' turnover-worthy play rate and 88th in Total QBR.
